
Hubert Klimko-Dobrzaniecki, born 1967, Polish novelist, poet, screenwriter, film director, and student of theology, philosophy and Icelandic language and literature, completed his studies at Silesian University’s Krzysztof Kieślowski Film School in Katowice, Poland, where he now lectures. Currently living in Vienna, Austria, Klimko-Dobrzaniecki holds dual Polish and Icelandic citizenship.
He is writing novels and books for children and making short films. Among others he published short story collections Bieława West Station (2003, reprinted with title Nutter in 2007), Coq au Porn (2013) and Domestic Gender and Other Stories (2018); novellas Rose’s Home. Krýsuvík (2006) and Lullaby for a Hanged Man (2007); novels One. Two. Three (2007), First Things (2009), Bornholm, Bornholm (2011), Greeks Go Home To Die (2013), The Pathologist (2015), Loneliness (2015), To Leave Iceland (2016) Lilac Thieves (2019); and a children’s book Bangsi (2012).
